Love  and  Dignity  since  2003

Laundry Love is a neighboring movement that partners with groups, schools and local laundromats to wash the clothes and bedding of low-income and/or no-income families and individuals.

Our  Story 
The Laundry Love initiative consists of regular opportunities to come alongside people who are struggling financially by assisting them with their laundry. Laundry Love partners with local laundromats in cleaning clothes and linens of low-income or no-income families and individuals. We see the laundromat as a place where strangers become friends, people are known by name, hope is hustled, and the worth of every human being is acknowledged and celebrated.

Laundry Love washes the clothes and bedding of low/no income families and person(s) across the US. We brighten the lives of thousands of people through love, dignity, and detergent by partnering with diverse groups and laundromats nationwide.

The story of Laundry Love began with T-Bone (Eric),(Co-Founder)
A houseless gentleman living in Ventura Calif. In one particular conversation, a question was asked of him: “How can we come alongside your life in a meaningful way?”  His response was honest and practical. “If I had clean clothes I think people would treat me like a human being.”

The God we serve is a God of unity who desires that His church live in unity and harmony built on the foundation that is Jesus Christ. It is Jesus who draws us together and the power of the Holy Spirit that make our bond stronger.Churches today have a lot of values. Some churches value doctrine, political correctness, events, programmes, social responsibility or discipleship. And it's not that these things are not important, but God declares that in His kingdom, nothing is as important as being united in love.
God calls the church to be a vibrant and powerful one that bears much fruit and the way we do that is by working together in perfect unity, not in perfect doctrine, perfect systems, perfect worship services or perfect leadership. That's why we are likened to a body - because what gets things done is unity in diversity. 1 Corinthians 12:12 says, "For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ."
God stands and affirms the power of unity in getting things done. In Genesis 11:6 the Lord spoke of the power of the people of Babel saying, "Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them."
These people were united for the wrong reasons, and yet God acknowledged what ability they had. Imagine what we can do if we are united for the right reasons. That's why the first thing that God did upon the establishment of the early church was give people a united language. In Acts 2:8-11, the Holy Spirit empowered the believers to once again speak the same language:
"And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God."
Unity is vital to building strong and vibrant churches. Today, the body of Christ is plagued by church splits and denomination splits all in the name of truth. But is the truth something that is to bring division within the body of believers? I believe that the truth, once centralised on the person of Jesus Christ, will bring unity and not division. The truth of God's Word should bring oneness and not categorisation amongst us.
The enemy we fight finds no initimidation in a church that is fighting with one another. What threatens Satan is a force built on one foundation and brought closer together by the love of God. That's why God calls us to love one another over and over again in scripture. He values unity and He values relationships built within the parameters of His church.

I came across this article and it hit home as I pray for those in leadership for ministry, specifically "The Church Mountain."  It is common place that pastors, ministers and lay professional call it quits on Gods purpose for their life.  I reached out to Pastor Randy to help me address some of the issues that surround this article.

Me:  Hey Pastor Randy do you have any thoughts from your book that could address this article :

Pastor Randy: I actually just saw this article a little earlier for the first time today.  I believe I did say somethings that address this very subject.  There are a couple of things that I think speak to this from my book...

"I feel that we do a greater disservice to the integrity of the gospel if we do not ensure that those who carry the mantel of delivery are in the best shape possible to present it."  After all, the Pastor doesn't suddenly fall or quit. It is always a process which means it is an embedded issue that requires attention that is often neglected.  But, if it means that it would require the Pastor to step down or take a sabbatical until there has been time to address and heal the issues, then what is the immediate impact? What is the long term impact?"

Me:  This is a great response and reminder to take care of yourself "pastors." The time it takes to care for yourself and or family is time God would want you to invest, to be better prepared to charge the hill ahead in the next season.

Our prayer is that leaders in ministry will have the courage to step back if needed, to reach out if needed because we need you.

The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes. Proverbs 21:1

I love this verse because it always reminds me to take a higher perspective when facing any situation.  In our calling to be ambassadors for His Kingdom , we are not confuse our calling is above Gods plans.

You don’t have to be in the driver’s seat trying to control the direction of everything. This doesn’t mean we should sit back and do nothing. It just means trusting our God to guide us from moment to moment. Don’t create a life where you need a lot of detailed plans, check lists, and to-do lists.
We try to imagine everything that we’ll do. How everything will play out. How to solve all our problems at once. But it’s impossible. We have to take it one moment at a time trust our creator, and things often turn out differently than we imagined.


Focus on What You Can Control, Leave What You Can't

Knowing the difference between the things we can control and the things we can’t is a topic that comes up frequently, both in my own self-reflection and in conversations with clients too. It manifests in many contexts and situations but always comes back to a single principle:

We can control our input, God controls the outcome

I can control how I show up in my relationships but I can’t control what other people think of me. I can control how much time and effort I put into preparing to lead others, but I can’t control whether It comes through how I plan it. I can control how diligently I work to pursue the call of God, but I cannot control the rewards others and myself will gain from it.


"Trust In the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding"

Most preachers have a favorite sermon, in the same way most artists have a favorite painting, and most singers a favorite song. Have you ever stopped to consider if Jesus did? Perhaps a better way to phrase this is to ask did he have a favorite subject he chose to speak about? And if he did, what was it? Perhaps it was the subject of salvation or forgiveness? Or maybe it was faith and miracles? It may surprise you to discover that the subject Jesus spoke more about than any other was, ‘The kingdom of God’. In fact, he framed all his other teachings around this one central theme.

At the very core of the ‘Lord’s prayer’ is found the statement, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven”.

From the commencement of Jesus’ ministry he began to preach, “The good news of the kingdom” (Matthew 4:23). His very first message was, “Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand” (Matthew 4:17). At the very core of the ‘Lord’s prayer’ is found the statement, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven”. Yes, it appears Jesus had a favorite sermon.

he gathered his disciples together and for forty days he taught them about one thing - the kingdom of God!

What convinced me most of this wasn’t simply his emphasis on the kingdom throughout his earthly ministry, but the realization that Jesus made it the most important subject he spoke about after he was raised from the dead! Luke begins the Book of Acts by telling us that after the resurrection Jesus appeared to his apostles over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God (Acts 1:1-3). Having accomplished the work of salvation one could be excused to think Jesus had no need to remain here any longer, but he did. And how did he chose to spend his time, he gathered his disciples together and for forty days he taught them about one thing - the kingdom of God!
